Delivery & Returns
At Black Octopus Jewellery I believe in providing an effortless shopping experience from start to finish. Whether you're treating yourself or buying a beautiful handmade jewellery gift, I want your order to reach you with ease and in perfect condition.
My delivery process is designed to be simple, reliable, and quick, so you can enjoy your new jewellery as soon as possible. Should you need to return or exchange an item, I've made the process as seamless as possible with our flexible returns policy. Read on for all the details on delivery options, timeframes, and how to initiate a return or exchange.
Tmeframe
I aim to ship all pre-made items within 3-5 working days.
For items which are personalised or sized to order (such as rings or bangles where an order has been placed via contacting me), please allow 1-3 weeks for dispatch. If your jewellery gift is needed more urgently, please reach out to me and I will always aim to meet a necessary timeline wherever possible.

I have taken the decision to keep it local for now, and am currently only shipping to the UK

UK Shipping Options
UK Shipping will be via Royal Mail Tracked 48 service as standard, and with a signature required for pieces of a higher value. If a more urgent service is required, please select this at checkout and Royal Mail Tracked 24 service will be used (with signature if relevant to the order).
Local collection can be selected at checkout if you’re local to me. This is by appointment only so please contact me for further info.

International Shipping
Due to recent changes & uncertainty in the global import/export landscape, I’ve taken the decision to keep things UK only for now.
Among other things, in December 2024 the European Union implemented the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) which has significantly affected the ability for UK-based artisans selling handmade goods to sell to EU countries outside of the UK.
As a small handmade business owner, it is not currently viable for me to sell to these locations, due to the newly introduced complexities and costs involved.
My hope is that there may be an affordable solution to this in the future, but for now I have to accept this as another unfortunate consequence of Brexit.
Cancellations
I understand that sometimes we change our minds, and I accept cancellations for a full refund prior to an order being dispatched. Once dispatched, the order will be subject to my Returns policy if not required (see below).
Returns & Exchanges
When buying handmade jewellery gifts (for either yourself or a loved one!) there’s always a chance that your choice wasn’t quite the perfect style or fit. Non-personalised items can be exchanged or returned within 14 days of purchase, and a full refund will be given/replacement will be issued as appropriate. Items must be returned unworn and in their original condition and packaging (or something equally as robust if the original postal packaging was not kept). Personalised items may not be returned.

I reserve the right to refuse the return of any earrings which I believe to have been worn (due to hygiene reasons).
Return postage to me is at your own expense, but for exchanges the replacement item will be shipped for free. Items returned by post are done so at your own risk, so please choose the relevant level of postage protection when sending. Returned items not received will not be refunded.
I reserve the right to refuse a return if, upon inspection, the issue is deemed to be the result of misuse, wear and tear, or circumstances outside of my control.
If you believe your item is faulty, please contact me with a detailed description and photographs so I can assess the issue and advise appropriately.
If any items need to be returned due to an issue or fault (as agreed by me), the cost of return postage will be covered by me.
